Description:

  • Inspect/Audit product using all variable or attribute measuring equipment and record results to ensure conformance with part and Customer requirements.

  • Be able to read, interpret, and understand print requirements including those developed using Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Be able to read and understand aerospace, military, and industry specifications along with manufacturing instructions.

  • Conducts conventional inspection to Engineering requirements using Height Gauges, Calipers, Micrometers, Bore gauges, and other standard inspection gauging equipment and methodologies.

  • Working with vision systems such as Keyence, CMM, and Zeis

  • Utilizing height gauges, pin gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc...

  • Responsible for First Part Buy Off, Receiving, In-Process, Final and First Article Inspections.

  • Fully understand AS9102 requirements.

  • Analyze CMM reports to determine part acceptance.

  • Communicate effectively across many departments / teams. (i.e. Engineering, Shop Floor)

  • Review and complete Work Order operations including submissions of nonconforming product.

  • Ensure application of required quality standards and workmanship criteria for in-process/floor inspection product verification and incoming inspection/first article.

  • Conducts or assists in conducting scheduled Shop Audits during normal operating hours to ensure machined parts comply with customer specifications.

  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental control standards.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.

  • Issue Gaging to the Manufacturing Floor as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience as a quality inspector

  • Ability to apply skilled mechanical inspection methods (caliper, micrometer, CMM, etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and procedure manuals.

  • HSD diploma or GED

  • Detail Oriented
