Job Description:

Summary

We are looking for individuals who are responsible for troubleshooting PLC, electrical, and instrumentation issues in our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility; reporting to the Maintenance Department.

Pay:

$37.31/hour

Essential Duties

  • Install, program, maintain and troubleshoot Allen Bradley/Siemens PLCs. (PLC, SLC,CLX)

  • Work with control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, actuators, solenoids etc.

  • Use Basic office computer software which includes learning how to effectively use Maximo to input data and research parts.

  • Perform general and specialized plant, IT, and electrical maintenance on Ethernet networks.

  • Analyze machine error messages and information from operators to diagnose and repair equipment.

  • Troubleshoot Wonderware and Panel View.

  • Understand computer database functions and maintain and/or setup database functions as needed.

  • Worth with the plant group and GAF Corporate to monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.

  • Work with the Controls Systems Specialist to maintain all PLC, HMI programs and VFD parameter sets.

  • Communicate all wiring schematics changes or discrepancies to the Controls Systems Specialist for updating.

  • Work and troubleshoot motor starter circuits, standalone VFD’s, coordinated drive systems and servos.

  • Use fork trucks, moveable work platforms and overhead hoists.

  • Other duties as required.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • An associate’s degree from an accredited technical college in electrical automation technology, electronics engineering technology or automated systems technology.

  • 2 years’ experience as ET III or similar experience

  • Must pass ET II test

  • Must have the essential hand tools to perform outlined tasks.

  • Must be able to work from drawings, schematics, sketches and verbal instructions.

  • Mustbeself-motivated,flexibleanddisplayademonstratedaptitudetocreatively solve problems.

  • Mustbeabletoperformtasksinasafe,efficientandenvironmentfriendlymannerby using proper lock out/tag out, hot work permit, confined space entry and equipment safety procedures as well as closely follow the housekeeping policy and environmental spill prevention/clean-up policies.

  • Ability to follow preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.

  • Must be able to complete weekly check sheets (measured by report quality and consistency of completion) and providing status reports as needed.

  • Set a positive example for other employees. Develop and maintain professional relationships with co-workers.

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to correct operational and safety problems
