Workforce Resources Shipping Coordinator - 3rd Shift in Minersville, Pennsylvania

General Job Description:

Coordinate efficient shipping process, personnel and production schedule to ensure customer orders are delivered correctly and on time.  Possess excellent problem-solving skills and have ability to work under tight scheduling and deadline conditions.  Pursue cost savings opportunities (i.e., back hauls, load spotter hours, maximum cube utilization, etc.).  Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Manage time and tasks to fulfill all customer orders in a timely manner and to enhance production goals.  Work as a "team" member to fulfill all customer requirements at all times.  Maintain constant unit flow, avoids line back up by loading trucks when necessary.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Comply with schedule to have trucks arrive at customer location on time with correct counts and paperwork -- creating BOL, lot BOL and hand BOL to drivers. 

  • Work with trucking company dispatcher to have trailers ready for loading on time Facilitate "hot" list, update freight and back log.

  • Coordinate with forklift operator, bander operator, sheet line operator customer service, supervisor, and control room operator for updates on hot list and order progress and continuous improvement.

  • Communicate with yard jockey to move trailers in and out; ensures hogger/baler operator has scrap trailer to put bales on.

  • Provide floor coverage as needed.

  • Completing tasks assigned by management

Core competencies required

  • Knowledge of scheduling function, hot list, and truck availability and Axiom

  • Work closely with customer service and dispatch for order progress. Ability to train, direct, and lead forklift drivers and loader checkers.

  • Customer and business communications.        

  • Knowledge of customer requirements. Must have pleasant professional telephone skills and etiquette.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, scheduling, production and management.   

  • Receive and monitor all returned product.

  • Must demonstrate team behavior, proper attitude at all times and provide timely and professional communications

  • Keep work areas clean and organized. Comply with all safe operating procedures and safety rules.

  • Understanding of quality process, procedures, and all internal quality forms.  Accurately account for all returns during the shift.

  • Ability to operate forklift.

  • Proper procedural steps for scanning units.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.                                                      

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting and driving forklift for up to 8 hours at a time.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

  • Standing for up to 8 hours at a time.

Education:

High school diploma or its equivalent required. 

 

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Must have flexible working hours (this will mainly be a 3rd shift position 10pm-6am)

OT can be required based on staffing/business needs

Pay starts at $22/hr and increase upon completion of 90 day probationary period.
