Aerotek Travel Pipe Welder in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

*SEEKING QUALIFIED PIPE WELDERS*

Location: New Prague, MN

Description:

  • MIG and/or TIG welding 50-90% of the time on a combination of stainless steel and carbon steel (very small amount of aluminum); varying level of gauge steel from very thin, schedule 10, 1/4" piping work

  • Will be welding with foot controlled machines

  • Setup fixtures as much as possible for welds off of blueprints, which will include cutting raw material to size

  • Welding pipe to plate

  • Core product line are massive pressure vessels/tanks that act like a huge thermos. Inside core of the tank is stainless steel and outside of core is carbon steel with insulation in between. MIG welders will be welding these tanks together along with welding all of the connecting tops of the tanks. The TIG welders will be welding the piping systems that connect the tank to other equipment.

-must be able to TIG on stainless pipe (schedule 10 and as small as 1/4" pipe)

-must be able to read blueprints

-must be able to pass x-ray tests (6G X-ray, 3/8’’ OD (.049 thin wall) and ½’’ Stainless Butt weld to ASME Standard)

-must be willing to MIG weld, operate fabrication equipment, help around the shop with duties, as needed; someone who just wants to TIG all day will not be a fit
