Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs trauma support patient care activities in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with procedures ordered by a physician and/or a Registered Nurse (RN) under scope of Board of Nursing and department rules and regulations.

  • Responds to Code Blue and trauma resuscitation calls within the department.

  • Performs clerical duties as assigned.

  • Provides training support to other staff members under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • One or more of the following:

  • Licensed Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the state of Wisconsin obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certified Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work within a hospital setting.

  • Certified Home Health Aide credentialed from the state of Wisconsin.

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and completion of a CNA, EMT, MA or HHA program required Completion of medical terminology class preferred

Work Experience:

  • No experience required; experience and/or education in the specific job field preferred.
