Purpose of the Role:

The prime responsibility of the Logistics Manager in Mexico is to lead logistics operations within the market via Diageo staff and through the third party providers across the end to end logistics network. The scope includes logistics of all materials, imports, transport modes & storage locations. The role holder will also be responsible for driving improvements in both effectiveness and efficiency in the local Logistics Network. The role holder will form part of the market supply chain Leadership Team and therefore will play a key role in defining the supply chain strategy for the market whilst owning specific logistics elements.

The particular emphasis in this role is on driving improvement in the performance of the network, through direct or indirect management of all logistics activities within the in-market / area boundaries:

· Inbound & outbound primary logistics (transport)

· Imports of finished goods

· Finished Goods / secondary logistics (warehouse and transport)

· Warehouse management and efficiency

Requirements – Capabilities, Skills & Experience:

· Studies in Engineering, BA or similar

· +8 years’ experience in handling and developing logistics networks, their suppliers and capabilities within CPG companies. A profound understanding of supply chain processes and their interactions is also required.

· Warehouse and transport functional expertise is a key success factor for this role.

· Detailed knowledge and experience across logistics activities including; logistics standard process, transport and Control Tower execution, multi modal / material supply solutions, direct deliveries to retailer, 3rd party and supplier management. An appreciation of the additional requirements when moving high value products and the additional security, excise and indirect tax implications is preferable.

· Strong Analytical capabilities.

· Strong Leadership, Influence and Teamwork Skills

· Confirmed business change management.

· Continuous improvement background and skills.

· Practical outlook with pragmatic decision making abilities.

· Experience in supplier / 3rd party / outsourced logistics solution management.

· Experience in contract development, defining SLAs, processes, procedures and critical metrics.

· English and Spanish proficiency (written and spoken)

Key Accountabilities: Transport Management, Warehouse Management, 3PL management & imports of finished goods

· Transportation & warehouse operations in the local/area network.

· Internal co-packing of VAPS & PACKS and strip stamp process for all products

· Imports of finished goods.

· Strategic and tactical direction to the transport, warehousing & imports suppliers to enable the delivery of savings and drive the integration of the logistics network in the market.

· To drive and own key change and integration initiatives in transportation to deliver coordinated and efficient transport solutions across the transport network.

· To influence internal and external key partners from the Supply Chain to improve end to end processes as Logistics is at the chain and is responsible to deliver Diageo goods to our customers

· To deliver standardized performance management across the network.

· To provide functional expertise and support the development of continuous improvement activities within 3PL and Diageo operations.

· Operate as part of a coordinated management team, handling expectations and raising issues as required.

· To be responsible for the executional collaborate with 3rd party service providers (warehouse & transport activities).

· Ensure contractual commitments of the suppliers are delivered and exceeded, handled via clearly defined governance structure

· Owns CARM & GAR logistics controls agenda

· Ensures that inventory and non-inventory items within storage are protected from damage and loss in line with local and CARM directives.

· Ensure that inventory is tracked through location SAP status and that regulatory requirements (e.g. Customs and Excise) are met.

· Develop service and value improvement plans for warehouse, track and report regularly.

· Budget management, develop annual operating plans in line with AOP expectations, track and prepare variance analysis reports for expense vs budget.

· Maintain the relationship with the internal teams & external customers who receive services from the warehouse.

· Finished goods are made available to the market on schedule, following importing process.

· To be accountable for all invoice payments to logistics vendors, and resolution of claims payment processing.

· Performance Management – The role holder will drive logistics performance and deliver Service & cost targets. Influence to drive logistics service providers towards dedication levels, delivering and exceeding the (mutually agreed) performance expectations and financial targets.
