Emerson QA Leader in MEXICALI, Mexico

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Coordinate and guide the QA Engineers team.

  • Handle and update the Process Capability Indices matrix (CPks).

  • Advise the efforts and continuous improvement projects for important metrics of the Quality department.

  • Handle control plans for critical equipment and machinery for the business.

  • Implementation of leading indicators (leading indicators) to predict the level of product quality.

  • Development of training plans and certifications required for Quality Engineers and technicians.

  • Ensure the use of personal protection equipment and knowledge of basic safety aspects for employees.

  • Design and execution of process audits for critical controls such as error-proof devices (Poka Yoke), calibrations, operator certifications, perishable materials, etc.

  • Design and implementation of standard work methodologies in all quality areas under your responsibility.

  • Work with your counterpart in the Equipment Engineering and Manufacturing areas in the design of efficient production processes.

  • Deployment of the Zero-Defect philosophy in the production lines.

  • Identification and reduction of waste in operational areas.

For this Role, You Will need :

  • A detailed understanding of QA principles, methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing), and standard processes and expertise in implementing quality control procedures at different stages of production.

  • Leadership skills to empower, inspire, and guide your QA team towards achieving quality goals, and for interacting with various teams (production, engineering, management) ensuring everyone is aligned on quality standards.

  • Problem-Solving by identifying and resolving quality issues optimally, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Decision-Making, regarding quality control procedures, resource allocation, and potential product defects.

  • Analytical Skills, to analyze data from inspections and identify trends or patterns to improve processes.

  • Customer Focus: Keeping the needs and expectations of the customer in mind when establishing quality standards.

  • Teamwork: Building strong relationships and collaborating optimally with your team and other departments.

  • Continuous Improvement: A strong commitment to ongoing improvement of quality control processes and seeking out new methodologies.

  • Adaptability: Being able to adapt to changing customer requirements, new technologies, and industry regulations.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Job training in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Shown experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/7 waste concepts.

  • Administration of Improvement Projects (Kaizen).

  • Proficient in process control tools (SPC, histograms, ANOVA, Control Plans).

  • Proficient in problem solving tools (Pareto analysis, 5 Why's, 6 Sigma, A3s)

  • Experience in the design and administration of Quality Management Systems (QMS) especially ISO 9000:2015.

  • Knowledge of customer product return processes and follow-up to root cause analysis reports.

  • Experience in leading defect reduction projects (Zero Defects).

  • Basic knowledge of Safety, Ergonomics, and accident prevention concepts.

  • Experience in international transfers of processes and products.

  • Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE) methodologies.

  • Practical knowledge in the use of software/applications (Mini Tab, MS office).
