The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of designated Data Center logistics operations and related systems information. This position requires shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control experience and necessitates a highly motivated individual with good communication and leadership skills. This person will select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the logistics function and be responsible for making tactical decisions that align to the department, site, and enterprise strategic objectives. This person will develop and implement logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to improve compliance with customer needs within budget constraints. This position will be responsible for interaction with vendors and collaboration between peers in Deployments, Break Fix, Ops Planning, and other essential functions to optimize systems and procedures.

Description

Apple's Data Center Operations Team is an exciting, fast paced, ever growing and changing environment supporting millions of customers. This team is responsible for deploying and maintaining equipment related to Apple's internet facing applications. As a Logistics Supervisor you'll be working in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment with multiple cross functional teams Responsibilities Include: Exercise judgment & provide direction to employees according to established company/data center policies & procedures Develop and mentor employees to continuously improve skills and team performance Manage of employee time and attendance details Plan resources to match highly variable workload Lead daily and weekly operations meetings with internal and external partners Proactively identify and mitigate risks to weekly production schedules Raise issues to appropriate channels for resolution; keep management advised of status, schedule, priorities and problems Identify issues and perform Root Cause Analysis to prevent future operational impact Work with peers to drive standard methodologies by recommending changes to enterprise/site policies & procedures Promote healthy and safe working environment through communication and monitoring of safety rules and regulations and handling ongoing safety training Provide financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories as the need arises

Minimum Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and understanding of team fundamentals to effectively lead and develop others

  • Highly motivated self-starter that is able to work independently, meet assigned deadlines and balance multiple tasks at one time

  • The candidate must demonstrate solid communication and coordination skills

  • Must be a great teammate and have experience working extensively with cross functional teams

  • Candidate should be a strong visual storyteller and comfortable presenting to management

  • Extensive experience in warehousing, inventory control, shipping/receiving and general logistics operations

  • Ability to develop positive relationships and partner with Apple Business Groups & other Apple Data Center teams

  • Ability to pull together many sources of information to help prioritize and lead operations

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

  • Outstanding ability to adapt mentorship to meet Data Center objectives

  • Ability to react quickly to new information, opinion and direction

  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of operations experience in logistics

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
