Job Summary: BrightStar of West Lake County is currently seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is committed and passionate about making a major positive impact on a child's life. You will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of students in the Merrillville, Indiana area. The compensation for this role is $28 to $32 per hour, with weekly direct deposit pay. Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with established policies and procedures - Conduct health screenings and assessments for students - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians - Educate students on health-related topics, such as nutrition, hygiene, and injury prevention - Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all students - Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff regarding the health of students - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans - Monitor and track immunization and vaccination records for students - Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid treatment until emergency medical services arrive - Adhere to all state and federal healthcare regulations and guidelines Requirements: - Current LPN license in the state of Indiana - Minimum of 2 years experience in a pediatric, school, or community health setting - CPR certification - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and make sound decisions - Knowledge of basic computer skills and electronic medical records - Ability to work a full-time schedule and maintain regular attendance - Must pass a background check and drug screening EEOC Statement: BrightStar of West Lake County is an equal opportunity employer.
