\ Performs data analysis and assists in the fire prevention and public education activities throughout the City and Rural District. Utilizes data to help plan targeted educational activities. Work is performed under general supervision with limited instruction and requires initiative and independent judgment. Works with social media and the City Public Safety PIO to distribute public education information. This position reports directly to the Community.\ \ Essential Duties & Responsibilities:\ \ Gathers, cleans, and interprets data sets. Compiles diagnostic analysis, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analysis regarding emergency response data from a variety of sources and identifies community risk vulnerabilities;\ \ Recommends community risk reduction action plans for resolution of identified vulnerabilities;\ \ May assist as directed with the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) accreditation process for the agency, including department inspections and policy review, revision and implementation;\ \ May assist with the department\'s catalog of policies and forms to meet accreditation standards;\ \ Conducts regular reviews of policies and procedures to meet all current CPSE expectations;\ \ Provides greater community alignment;\ \ Encourages quality improvement;\ \ Facilitates input from and builds positive relationships with labor;\ \ Identifies areas of strengths and weaknesses;\ \ Allows for the establishment of a plan for improvement;\ \ Provides data supported decision-making;\ \ Communicates management and leadership philosophies;\ \ Ensures the agency has a defined mission and related objectives;\ \ May assist with reviewing organizational procedural documents relating to accreditation;\ \ Leads presentations to community groups, businesses and schools promoting fire and safety prevention concepts, and explaining the operations of the Fire Department;\ \ Assists with the development and promotion of fire prevention and safety programs;\ \ Creates, formats, and distributes program documents, lesson plans, forms, flyers, and presentations;\ \ Assists in the creation of social media content;\ \ Maintains a complete record of public education activities;\ \ Assist in facilitating department tours and friendly firefighter visits;\ \ Plans and markets scheduled events and programs;\ \ Conducts home safety assessments for Meridian City/Rural Fire District residents to include smoke and carbon monoxide alarm maintenance, evaluation and education;\ \ Assists in the Community Risk Reduction efforts of the city;\ \ Makes presentations outside normal working hours;\ \ Communicates with others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations in person, in writing, or over the phone;\ \ Performs research, correspondence, public relations, and other duties as assigned;\ \ Supervises volunteers as needed.
