The Billing Assistant provides support to the entire Billing Department. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, and have accurate data entry and proofreading skills (7,000 to 11,000 kph preferred). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate Experience: 1 to 2 years of accounting experience, construction billing experience preferred. Travel: 0% Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. Must be able to work at home and have access to a printer and scanner. Ability to become and maintain a notary certification within 6 months of employment. Knowledge of Viewpoint is preferred. Microsoft Suite knowledge with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills is preferred. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist members of the Billing Team with billing support items, such as pulling GMP invoice backup and generating and collecting lien waivers. * Assist Billing Manager and Billing Assistant Manager with electronic filling, organization, and tracking of billing department items. * Oversee Budget Forms mailbox. * Enter Change Order and Startpoint budgets. * Oversee Lien Waiver mailbox. * File and distribute lien waivers and other mail. * Oversee PO Billing mailbox. * Distribute POs to appropriate team members. * Review contract specifications to determine all pertinent billing and compliance information. * Work with various customer\'s billing portals. * Have general knowledge of sales & use tax. * Assist with Billing Team member vacation coverage. * Act as liaison between internal and external customers to resolve billing issues. * Prioritize, organize, and multi-task to meet multiple deadlines that are within company expectations. * Work with sensitive materials and information. * Problem solve and meet daily challenges. * Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
