The New Jewish Home Plumber in Manhattan SNF - New York, New York

The Plant Operations Department of The New Jewish Home is seeking 1 full time Plumber to join our team This position will sit in 120 West, 106th Street, NY, NY 10025. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Must be able to work extended hours, nights or weekends.

Job Summary:

The Plumber will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light commercial environments and ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.

► Primary responsibilities:

  • Performs residential and light commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues.

  • Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures, tests joints, and pipe systems.

  • Maintains and repairs plumbing systems carrying water,

  • Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances or fixtures using hand or power tools.

  • Explains to the client each service performed each time a maintenance or repair is completed and ensures complete customer satisfaction.

  • Following safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintaining a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.

Job Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Must have a minimum of five years of verifiable plumbing experience in a residential service and maintenance operation.

Specialized Skills:

  • Ability to use power and hand tools correctly and safely

  • Ability to read, write and speak effectively and professionally

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects , tools or controls and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities are required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
