Summary of Role: This position is for a device-modeling expert who will primarily work on the compact device model and advanced characterization development with focus on SiGe HBT and WBG (GaN-HEMT) technologies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead model development projects covering SiGe and WBG (GaN) device technologies for GF’s rf and high voltage technologies to meet customer performance metrics and schedules, while maintaining best-in-class quality standards and emphasizing the utilization of innovative methodologies to improve efficiencies and accuracy.

  • Strong collaboration with Fab and design teams to understand device specifications and performance requirements of the SiGe and WBG (GaN) models

  • Drive best practices and standardization in data selection, model extraction, QA/ validation & circuit benchmarking across the world-wide model organization

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Device Model Characterization Lab/ PDK/ Device/ Process Integration/ Design Manual/ Test chip Design Layout) to executive PDK/model related projects & resolve PDK/model related issues.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and provide regular updates on project progress.

  • Actively participate in customer engagement meetings and provide technical support for customer queries related to the device models and help to resolve model related issues in a timely manner.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: PhD (preferred) / master's in electrical engineering or physics

  • Experience: At least 5 years of industry experience and expertise in SiGe, WBG (GaN) or CMOS device modeling

  • Must have in-depth Semiconductor device physics knowledge.

  • Expertise with device and circuit level simulators such as HSPICE, SPECTRE

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

  • Excellent ability to meet tight deadlines, commitments and deliver customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a foundry environment supporting Device compact modeling across multiple technology nodes and products

  • Experience in SiGe and WBG (GaN) model development

  • MATLAB, Python, machine learning programming

  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning & organizational skills

  • BS + 11 or more years of experience or

  • MS + 8 or more years or

  • PhD + 7 or more years

Expected Salary Range

$104,000.00 - $198,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
