Advisor - High School Completion/GED

SALARY:$54,282.98 - $59,616.45

LOCATION:Lynnwood, Washington

DESCRIPTION:  

Under the general direction of the Advising Manager,  this position provides outreach, intake, and support for students in the high school completion and GED programs.  Duties include community outreach, managing admission, tracking data, advising, and ongoing support for students, leading to successful program completion and transition to college. This position plays a critical role in student enrollment, retention, and success at Edmonds College.

The Pre-College Division serves students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and is committed to increasing the cultural diversity of its staff and faculty.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide information to students and the community regarding high school completion and GED including participating in outreach events.

Develop and lead orientations and administer testing for students enrolling in Pre-College classes. 

Process new student college applications and verify that all required enrollment paperwork has been completed. 

Maintain timely, accurate and comprehensive student records including academic progression, contact logs, and case notes. 

Evaluate high school transcripts; advise students on program requirements, develop individualized quarterly student schedules and register students for classes, apply tuition waivers based on student eligibility/need. 

Case manage program students; monitor grades, testing data, digital records, individual and group communications with students and course completion toward high school graduation; follow up on student interventions with students and faculty.

Refer students to appropriate resources within the college and the greater community.

Assist students as they transition to college-level classes, including accessing available resources for paying college tuition

Ensure compliance with state and college regulations, and be responsive to changes in program requirements.

Evaluate and approve students for the award of their high school diploma, confirming that all requirements have been met. 

Collaborate on various projects to support student success and achieve Division goals.
