    Position description

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a full time junior level faculty member in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry in the Health Science series. Candidates must be committed to clinical work in Geriatric Psychiatry along with teaching residents and fellows in this area. Requirements include the completion of both a residency in Adult Psychiatry as well as a fellowship in Geriatric psychiatry. The position will primarily consist of hospital-based psychiatry, such as attending on the teaching service of inpatient geriatric psychiatry teams, or working as an ECT attending along with a substantial outpatient practice seeing geriatric patients. Attending in the Geriatric Evaluation Clinic and seeing patients with residents is another mandatory aspect of this position.

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:

Must hold an M.D., D.O., equivalent medical degree and be board eligible or certified in Psychiatry; Must possess a valid California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency certificate.

Must have completed or anticipate completing by the time of hiring a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
