Summary of Job Duties:

The Cook collaborates with other cooks and food prep techs under the direction of a supervisor to requisition, prepare, season, and cook a wide range of foods, including soups, salads, bakery and entrees for patients, employees, or patrons.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School diploma/GED plus 1 year experience in institutional or commercial cooking.
  • Must be able to work during Inclement Weather.
  • Must be able to work rotating Weekends and Holidays.

Preferred:

  • Formal Culinary Education and ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans, cut, and cook food items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served.
  • Clean and inspect gallery equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
  • Apportion and serve food to patients, employees, and patrons.
  • Other duties as assigned.
