Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will develop and apply specific technical expertise in the field of construction obtained through education, experience, and/or professional certifications in one or more areas. You will serve as a civil construction Engineering Technician and provide engineering support services in the field of construction contracts primarily between the Navy/Marine Corps/Air Force and private contractors. You provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects. You will attend selective quality control, preparatory, and initial meetings while monitoring three-phase checklists for accuracy and thoroughness. You will perform cursory safety reviews and provide recommendations towards acceptance of the Accident Prevention Plan and actively enforce compliance by contractors. You will apply technical knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods in conjunction with sound judgment in all duties performed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing, assessing and resolving complex and diverse construction and design problems encountered during the performance of projects assigned; 2) Assisting the construction engineer on technical situations requiring extensive knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods; 3) Reviewing project plans and specifications prior to contract award for technical soundness, compliance with requirements and to determine practicability from a construction management standpoint; 4) Utilizing construction project scheduling software to track the progress of assigned projects. GS-10: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
