Armed Forces Benefit Association Account Manager in Lincoln, Nebraska

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The 5Star Life Worksite Account Manager is an inside marketing and sales support role responsible for strategically on-boarding new groups, qualifying, and completing sales opportunities and using current book of business as a means to strategically create added lines of business and organic growth. Account managers are expected to spend their time validating completion of implementation for new potential opportunities and nurturing out-bound sales leads. This position requires high output work in the fast-changing Voluntary Benefits industry, and deal with real issues impacting companies relative to benefits.

This position is based in either Alexandria, Virginia or Lincoln, Nebraska with opportunity to work remotely from home.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to other Account Managers and related team members in new business activities

  • Coordinate meetings with brokers and clients to discuss enrollment and other product management guidelines

  • Follow up on new sold group quotes

  • Manage a current block of new business

  • Research and validate that all areas of new sales and operations are prepared for the issuance of coverage

  • Sales support for agent contracting and active contact for the sales team in the field

  • Create and follow-up on proposals to boost the sales pipeline

  • Understand and align to prospect’s needs, goals, and objectives

  • Actively develop new revenue opportunities with group retention and added lines of coverage to existing employer groups

  • Support the sales teams in the field with any missing information and ensure all information is provided as need to close a new case

  • Support in additional projects for new product implementation, process streamline and identification of trends

  • Customer facing travel when needed projected at less than10%

  • Perform system demonstrations of enrollment tools, payment vendors and web portal tools

  • Support group business contract completion and QC efforts by leadership and Quality Assurance team member(s)

  • Create and communicate group renewal rating and product offering decisions

  • Handle other related projects directly associated with revenue growth and business retention efforts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in business administration or other related discipline

  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Self-motivated – you are a “go-getter”, minor hurdles do not prevent you from achieving your objectives

  • Results oriented – you have a proven record of setting, achieving, and exceeding production goals

  • Strong communication skills – you are a good listener, clearly articulate your thoughts in a professional manner, and are very persuasive

  • Organized – you easily prioritize to maximize your efforts

  • Computer skills – you are proficient with Microsoft Office, and using a Contact Management System
