Job Summary

Lexington, SC Site Contractor is currently seeking General Laborers to support projects in the Columbia/Lexington areas. General Laborers will either be assigned to a pipe laying crew or a grading crew, depending on skills and abilities.

Requirements

Driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site daily.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work will involve physical exertion of a practical nature.

  • Individual may have limited or no experience in road and/or site construction.

  • Abilities must be flexible as to allow various labor activities including, but not limited to shoveling dirt, sand, using short or long handle shovels, digging holes using hand-operated or post hole diggers, picking up sticks/roots from grading, brooming dirt and debris using hand brooms.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves and Steel Toe work boots.

  • Must meet JCW employment standards with regards to preemployment drug test and random drug test.

  • These activities may take place at one or more of the following locations: plants, new roads and street, various building sites and the office or shop facilities.

  • Ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50-60 pounds.
