Summary:
Performs all secretarial functions necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the Physician office. This includes: telephone coverage and messages; greeting and registration of patients; scheduling of patients and monitoring of schedules to ensure appropriate patient flow, scheduling of all diagnostic tests and referrals ordered by the physician; reviewing of insurance coverage and collection of patient balances/co-pays, maintenance of medical records; knowledge of and compliance with managed care regulations; and the ability to work well with others in a complex, fast paced setting.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
High School or equivalent required
Associate's Degree in secretarial science or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of secretarial/clerical experience required
Five (5) years of secretarial/clerical experience in a Physician's Office including word processing and filing preferred
