Job Summary

Prioritizes and aligns the training offerings of all technical training for Nipsco Electric Operations to ensure compliance and the optimization of training needs and resources for Operations; provides support to Electric Operations end users of NiSource Learning Management System (LMS) and Onboard to manage and track a broad spectrum of training and testing.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating the planning and prioritization of all Electric technical and compliance training.

  • Training department liaison to Planning, Scheduling and Operations to provide requirements necessary to meet customer expectations and the business plan.

  • Review of the annual and monthly Operation Plans, and the translation of the operations plans into operating budgets in regards to training.

  • Keeps abreast of business and training needs that may affect Electric Operations.

  • Promotes the necessary environment for effective internal customer satisfaction and collaboration.

  • Ensures ongoing collaborative relationships with key internal operations partners.

  • Partners with Operating Centers to track employee movement related to job changes and new hires.

  • Assists Leader of Technical Training Center to ensure optimization and full utilization of training center resources.

  • Develops and assigns Scheduled Offerings to Nipsco Electric business units based on needs.

  • Develops, implements, tracks and analyzes reports and communicates to all levels of management on program compliance and learning needs.

  • Training needs and training resources are effectively prioritized, optimized and scheduled for existing employees and new hires.

  • Proctors Edison Electric Institute (EEI) testing of existing employees and new hires for aptitude skills.

  • Increased recognition and sharing of best practice opportunities.

  • Focused on continuously improved coordination of scheduling of training and overall customer satisfaction/metrics.

  • Strong, collaborative relationships with cross functional peer groups.

  • Strong operational partnerships.

  • Results that meet or exceed operational goals and budgets.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of LMS functionality, safety and compliance requirements.

  • Five years’ experience in Distribution Operations or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrates understanding of planning, scheduling and budgeting activities which support Electric Operations.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills.

  • Demonstrates Project Management skills (analytical and organizational).

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to quickly assess and make sound decisions.

  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to achieve results.

  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.

  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree from accredited institution.
