CNC Programmer

This position's primary focus is to play a crucial role in optimizing CNC machine manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring safe and timely production. Your focus will be on work study, time study, mentoring, and training programs to promote effective manpower utilization. This is a great opportunity to:

· Implement manufacturing processes and procedures that empower our production team to consistently deliver exceptional results to our customers---safely, efficiently, accurately, and on time---using effective modes and methods

· Contribute to streamlining operations, reducing waste, and ensuring efficient resource utilization

· Oversee and lead CNC Machining equipment and processes to improve efficiency, meet schedule and lower cost.

· Select equipment and methods to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards.

· Design, develop and create training opportunities for the team to meet the short and long term workforce development objectives.

· Work in a support role as needed on various projects.

· Ensure our company remains in compliance with all industry standards for environmental, health and safety..

Objectives of this Role

· Analyze and provides recommendations for improvements in existing production processes in order to meet safety, quality, schedule, and productivity objectives

· Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.

· Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, including facility layout, process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing

· Works with engineering and reviews engineering drawings and designs during the quote and pre-production phases.

· Establish and implement the necessary requirements for manufacturing methods, equipment, and materials

· Select appropriate machining processes, tooling, and materials through thorough evaluation

· Optimize scheduling methods and achieve performance metrics related to schedule, quality, and cost

· Use knowledge of machine operations to develop code to control machine operation.

· Continually assess business requirements and skills needs, identify gaps and propose remediation strategies.

· Work with the Plant Manager to design, develop and manage training initiatives as required by the business.

· Review and update, and maintain training matrix

· Propose initiatives to close skill gaps and ensure resources are able to perform required functions

· Mentor employees, including Co-Op students and new hires

· Create, maintain, and implement safety programs that comply with federal, state, and local safety laws.

· They analyze statistical data and reports to identify safety-related problems and develop recommendations for improvement.

· Design safety awareness training programs and modules.

· Work with management to establish a culture of honest incident and accident reporting.

· Collaborates with program management, manufacturing leads, customer, and functional leads

· Reports findings and makes recommendations to management

· Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

· Associates degree or certification in related field.

· 5+ years related CNC Programming experience

CNC programing software (Mastercam)

Ability to read engineered drawings and assembly prints

Knowledge of machine part eng
