Horizon Activities Centers School Age Lead Teacher in Lakewood, Ohio

School Age Lead Teacher Positions available in Berea, Cleveland and South Elyria

Salary Range:  $13.00 to $17.00/hr. Placement in this range is dependent on professional development levels for education and training. Additional incentives may be available for special duty assignment(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings; check work and ensure completion if possible
  • Responsible for the care and supervision of the children in the classroom- build rapport, classroom management
  • Plan and implement engaging age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom activities and clubs. Incorporate character education and global learning.
  • Parent engagement and communication
  • Specific skills and/or interest required in one or more of the following areas: STEM, gym, and fine arts
  • Maintain documentation for services provided, progress reports and attendance
  • Work as part of a team with other staff and director to plan themes
  • May be required to assist with center transportation plans

Qualifications:

  • Great position for 2nd and 3rd year college students
  • Coursework or Associates degree in ECE or related field or
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or enrolled, or
  • High School Diploma with experience in a classroom setting and with children
  • Level 3 CPL preferred
  • Willingness to update job knowledge with required ODJFS Licensing Rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities and industry trends 
  • Demonstrate cross cultural competency while working with Horizon's diverse population.
