We are seeking a highly analytical Lead Software Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of development with an agile team focus and leveraging new technologies to modernize systems, while enhancing current systems to meet business needs. Our teams are passionate about constantly improving the quality of our applications and store business processes. In this position, you will work on cross functional teams united by the vision to align technical and business units, increase agility, and meet expanding customer demands in an ever-changing private label and prepared foods environment. Responsibilities include system analysis, requirements gathering, project leadership, and building relationships with our business partners and external vendors. The most suitable hire for this position will be a highly analytical candidate with coding, problem solving, mentoring, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and lead in architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members.

  • Drive continual delivery of improvements to the applications and technology through sound Agile development practices to deliver features.

  • Work closely with the Product Owner and IT management; assist Agile team members with day-to-day direction and clarification of requirements.

  • Create design artifacts such as user stories, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively convey product workflow architecture and user experiences to stakeholders.

  • Provide support and subject matter expertise on business rules and processes to technical lead, test lead and other team members during all phases of projects.

  • Collaborate with Agile team(s) to ensure requirements, design and desired outcomes are clearly communicated and attend Agile events (daily stand-up, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration review and sprint retrospectives)

  • Work in the development of project plans, management of projects, monitoring project performance, and development of implementation plans.

  • Provide afterhours support during the deployment of the application on an as needed basis.

  • Lead and participate in development activities and guide the team to improve on code quality.

Year End Bonus:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical discipline or equivalent experience

  • 11+ years of experience with .NET and C# development

  • 11+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting customer-facing APIs.

  • 11+ years of experience in data storage technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, Azure, and Azure SQL

  • 11+ years of experience with Angular framework with responsive web design and styling

  • 11+ years of experience with source control systems using GIT and Microsoft Azure DevOps

  • 3+ years of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), NuGet package management, TFS/Git code management, DevOps Integration, DevOps Pipelines, or other CI/CD tools

  • 5+ years of experience implementing software using Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technologies.

  • 5+ years of experience with event-based and micro-service style architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 13+ years of experience with .NET and C# development

  • Continued education and certifications in various technical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience with NoSQL Databases

  • 13+ years of experience working in an Agile environment.

  • 10+ years of experience building highly scalable systems and performance tuning them.

  • 5+ years of experience with MIRO whiteboarding
