Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our client's small but dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage the financial operations of the company efficiently. This role requires hands-on involvement in all aspects of the accounting function and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's financial health.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.

  • General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance compared to the budget and report variances.

  • Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements.

  • Manage the company's financial planning and liquidity management.

  • Internal Controls:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Payroll Management:

  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely payroll administration.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations.

  • Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file state and federal tax returns.

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and timely payment of taxes.

  • Audit Coordination:

  • Coordinate and facilitate external audits.

  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation for audit processes.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for the accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
