Insight Global Staff Commissioning Engineer in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join their team in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for maintaining multiple commissioning projects, ranging from 3-10 projects at a time, both new construction and renovation. This individual will have responsibility and oversight of testing for electrical systems in various industries including manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, federal, and commercial. Responsibilities include testing of fire alarm, lighting, emergency power systems, building automation controls, and distribution systems (13kV or 480 volts and below). The Commissioning Engineer will also be responsible for oversight of design reviews and needs prior knowledge of building codes as well as site safety procedures. This individual will be collaborating with a team of 6-10 individuals, varying from project to project, and will also be interfacing with maintenance and contractor personnel in the field. This individual will be required to travel up to 40% (construction field work) and must work onsite 5 days/week.

Must Haves:

3+ years of experience commissioning

Ability to travel up to 40%

Ability to obtain clearance

Skills and Requirements

Prior commissioning experience specific to lighting, power, fire alarm, and control systems

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

(ABET) Commissioning certifications: CxA, CCP, BCxP, NEBB, NETA, or QCxP

Prior or current construction field experience

Design review experience

Prior lead experience

PE License null
