Boyd Gaming BURGER OUTLET COOK in Kansas City, Missouri

What would I be doing?

Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Kansas City has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is looking for a Cook to join our burger concept, Burger Joint. If you love to cook burgers, we want you on our team. We also make a mean chicken sandwich and the fries and shakes are to die for!

Responsibilities

The successful candidate:

  • Will work with fresh food and ingredients. Burger Joint does not cook frozen burgers!

  • Work with equipment such as, knives, steamers, sauté station, frying, ovens, braiser, steam kettle, char broiler, griddle, rotisserie, smokers, woks, slicers, food processors.

  • Artfully prepare wholesome foods and deliver a quality product to our guests and team members.

  • Read food orders from computer printouts, and prepare food items, according to established menu plans.

  • Wash, slice, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.

  • Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing them with utensils.

What are we looking for?

This is a burger joint and the goal is to get fresh hot food to our guests and team members. How do you do that?

  • Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor and be polite and courteous. No exceptions!

  • Be prepared with the knowledge and skill required to be responsive to guests’ and team members’ needs and questions. In other words....know your stuff!

  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. This is a casino and we are open 24/7.

  • Use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner.

  • Attendance is very important. Be here and be on time. Those burgers aren't going to cook themselves.

  • Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.

  • At least one (1) year experience directly related to specified job skills.
