Eaton Corporation Mechanical Design Technician in JUAREZ, Mexico

What you’ll do:

The Mechanical Design Technician is responsible for accurately interpreting Parts/assemblies supplied drawings, specifications, and Engineering notes, it is also responsible for loading part numbers into ERP/MRP system and revise bills-of-material for internal customers in Manufacturing and Purchasing departments. This Person will be also working with internal and external customer to get quotes, ask and answer questions acting as the liaison between engineering/manufacturing and materials departments. Take direction from the Design Engineer or Lead Technician in the conceptualization and design of products.

• Review/read Engineering drawings for parts and bus assemblies utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks/Inventor to confirm parts can be manufactured to meet Engineering requirements.

• Create or edit bills of material to insure correct material demand requirements for purchased and self-manufactured components.

• Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare a quote package to send to internal or external vendors, depending on the part.

• Setting up components in the system for ordering

• Bill of Materials, manufacturing orders, Picking lists review and comparation

• Upload and set up new parts to MRP/ERP systems

Qualifications:

Unfinished or in-process university degree.

Minimum experience of 1 years in similar positions.

Skills:

• Able to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements.

• BOM/MRP/ERP experience.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.

• Fluent bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken).

• General knowledge about how an ERP system works.

• 3D modeling experience (Autocad, Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, Catia, etc).

• Proficiency with various computer software and Applications such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Minitab, and Outlook.
