WELDING ENGINEER Concurrent Technologies Corporation Johnstown, PA

Minimum Clearance Required: None Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: None Employee Background Check Required

Key Responsibilities: Develop Friction Stir Welding parameters and apply to new and unique client applications Design and engineer FSW fixturing and other support equipment to ensure sound weld execution Provide hands on support to setup and perform Friction Stir Welding Able to develop welding projects/solutions for various DoD and commercial customers Familiar with standard welding practices, theory, microstructure, methods, heat inputs, cooling rates, etc. Able to set up welding processes and trials to determine weld metal characteristics Design of experiments and process modeling is a plus Determine appropriate mechanical testing and/or microstructure analyses of welds and weld joints

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Welding Engineering with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience Basic understanding of materials and joining processes Friction Stir Welding experience

Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years of welding and fabrication background (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn) 1-2 years of Friction Stir Welding experience (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn) Robotic welding experience (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn) Creative and innovative in joining technologies/materials Enjoy research and development type efforts Interest in artificial intelligence Interest in learning project management techniques
