JPMorgan Chase Control Manager Product Owner in Jersey City, New Jersey

As the first line of defense for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC), Control Management prevents, detects, and monitors operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. In support of operational excellence, we play a key role in meeting our client commitments and act as a driving force behind the strategic priorities that will future proof our business in an ever-changing global landscape.

The Product Owner role sits in the Controls Room team within the broader Control Management organization. The team's objective is to empower the firm's broader Control Management organization with risk-based information to manage their control environment. One way we achieve this is by managing and developing applications and tools to monitor, report on, and help mitigate operational risk for the Firm. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing solutions and features that solve real business problems and translate them into product features that support business needs. Construct meaningful epics and document user stories with sufficient detail and acceptance criteria to drive successful delivery.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of risk and control program strategies and apply this knowledge to improve your product, determine solutions, resolve issues, and anticipate new requirements as the product evolves.

  • Create, prioritize, and proactively manage the product's backlog based on the overall strategy, business objectives, and in alignment with the product roadmap.

  • Serve as the primary interface between stakeholders and the development teams; ensure there is buy-in from stakeholders on all key decisions and translate those into clear requirements for the development teams.

  • Responsible for communicating with stakeholders and development team to make sure the goals are clear, and the vision is aligned with business objectives.

  • Partner with the Program Management team to ensure the product's progress is reported accurately on status reports and product roadmaps.

  • Responsible for test execution during UAT and partnering with the UAT manager to define test scope and ensure timelines are established and reported accurately on status reports.

  • Participate in sprint showcases to review new features and ensure quality of deliverables.

  • Participate in sprint retrospectives to promote continuous improvement of team workflows and core processes.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in writing user stories or business requirements as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.

  • Strong written & oral communication and presentation skills with experience communicating effectively with a diverse audience across business and technology partners, including senior leadership.

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to problem-solve, and detail oriented.

  • A good understanding of Agile software development methodology in a large enterprise.

  • Experience in creating UX storyboards, high-level UI wireframes/prototypes, workflow diagrams, and UAT tests.

  • Experience in gathering requirements to build actionable reports and visually engaging dashboards is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple project work-streams concurrently with competing deadlines.

  • Flexible, adaptive, and resourceful; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a diverse set of partners & stakeholders at varied levels of management.

  • Experiencing working in both team and independent environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
