This position actually sits on Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Responsibilities

  • HVAC Supervisor will be providing technical knowledge, experience, and skills to supervise and provide technical guidance to qualified technicians and mechanics providing operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC/R systems repair to include trouble shooting and diagnostics. Ensures the optimal function of building HVAC/R systems. Manages personnel for facilities repair; ensures all routine preventative maintenance checks are accomplished while maintaining the ability to immediately respond to emergency facility maintenance requirements. Ensures facility requirements are met, in accordance with the PWS. Coordinates and supports customer project requirements. Ensures personnel correctly capture data on maintenance work order requests and preventative maintenance inspection forms for upload into the Maximo database.

  • Supervises and coordinates the operations, maintenance and service repairs on air/water cooled chillers, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

  • Provides technical guidance to qualified technicians and mechanics performing operation, maintenance, installation and repair of chiller, heating, and air conditioning system repairs to include troubleshooting and diagnostics.

  • Oversees the installation of new units and replacement parts and ensures work is completed according to company specifications and established safety guidelines.

  • Shall requisition equipment and repair parts using Maximo.

  • Responsible for all work accomplished by the shop.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications:

  • The HVAC Supervisor must have a current and valid US driver’s license, NATE III certification (HVAC service) certification by a nationally recognized certifying organization.

  • Licenses from states or municipalities that require experience and examination similar to level III certification requirements are valid.

  • Must be EPA section 608 Universal certified.

  • Certifications at level III shall include multiple areas of competencies and specializations such as: air conditioning, air distribution, air-to-air heat pumps, gas furnaces, light commercial refrigeration, and commercial refrigeration.

  • Any apprenticeship programs shall include both classroom instruction and on-the-job apprenticeships.

  • Experience

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience as an HVAC Technician or Mechanic

  • Must have at least three (3) years supervisory experience.

  • Skills

  • Knowledge of competencies and specialization such as: air conditioning, air distribution, air-to-air heat pumps, gas furnaces, light commercial refrigeration, and HVAC/R systems.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will supervise all personnel assigned to the HVAC Department.

  • Other Requirements

  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.

  • Task specific work environment training will be provided as required.

  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in certain situations.
