Job Description Summary

Advanced Lead Design Engineer will be a part of LM9000 Aeroderivative Engine, responsible for development testing activities, field issues, new product design, cost out and manufacturing support, along with mentoring less experienced team members, while collaborating with the cross-functional discipline teams and System Engineering in US. As a design hardware owner, you will be reporting to Engineering Manager and fulfill needs for hardware ownership responsibilities for your parts.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of Airfoils (Blades, vanes etc.) using sound engineering principles and adhering to design practices, templates, program requirements.

  • Ability to own the related hardware on any design related topic within a broad group of stakeholders.

  • Ability to work with Systems Engineering/Internal/External Customers / Discipline teams on any of the technical topic for owned Hardware.

  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing programs to resolve manufacturing related problems and lead identified improvements and producibility issues for fielded products.

  • Perform design reviews, deep dive sessions, technical program reviews at several stages of design, re-design efforts or field issues.

  • Right size design efforts by working closely with Chief Engineering Office to meet delivery schedules while not comprising quality.

  • Assure to document projects and tasks with respect to engineering quality standards.

  • Develop a project plan establishing work package, milestones, objectives in accordance with program statement of works, meet deliverables according to the detailed plans in Smartsheet.

  • Contribute and adhere to team daily management meetings, standard work activities and aligned with Section Key Performance Indicators.

  • Preferably MRB certified.

Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.

  • At least 8 years of related hands-on experience in Aerospace related mechanical design/analysis role.

  • Excellent command in English both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated skills in utilizing multiple engineering tools, UG NX, ANSYS.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a result oriented, risk managing approach.

  • Taken courses in Advanced Mechanical Design, Elasticity, Modal Analysis, Advanced Vibrations and Fatigue Analysis

  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing)
