Opportunity

We're seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Commercial Cost Estimator. In this role, you'll excel at providing precise measurements of materials and labor needs, crafting accurate project bids, and reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing project potential by providing detailed measurements and bid formatting
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to develop quantification procedures
  • Controlling costs through thorough information collection and analysis
  • Maintaining project timelines and budgets through effective time management and prioritization

As a member of the Cost Management team your job will encompass different levels of responsibility that commands professionalism and confidentiality. Below is a partial list of responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares budgets by understanding plans, requirements, updating specifications, identifying, and projecting costs for each project.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provide complete and accurate quantity take-offs.
  • Analyze and comprehend job documents and RFQ's.
  • Communicate with vendors for all trades.
  • Preparing cost analysis for labor, equipment, and materials
  • Analyze and comprehend plan sets and construction drawings.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids.
  • Monitor and qualify subcontractor bid submittals.
  • Provide complete estimates in proposal form.
  • Review construction documents to understand the project scope of work and provide direction to bid coordinators to secure proposals
  • Position requires close communication with internal management.
  • Consults with operations to develop innovative and diverse service solutions.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree construction management, engineering or related field or relevant trade experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Retail and/or Restaurant construction preferred.
  • 5 years sales and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Up to 30% travel (position based in Dallas, Texas).
  • Must have and maintain good driving record.
  • Adhere to company's policies, as well as compliance with federal and state legislation laws.
  • Light construction, remodeling and roll-outs knowledge inside consumer shopping/guest environments preferred.
