Microsoft Corporation GM, Engineering – Cloud Supply Chain in Hyderabad, India

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The Cloud Supply Chain is responsible for the servers, storage and networking equipment needed for the Cloud datacenters. This includes strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning, supply chain planning, fulfillment, delivery, decommissioning, dispositioning and warranty support for the datacenter assets worldwide. It’s a complex dynamic landscape which is evolving rapidly to support the growing needs of the Cloud.

The Cloud Supply Chain is powered by a mix of Microsoft and third-party solutions including SAP. Our Engineering team is distributed across two core regions in the US and India. This team plays a critical role in driving the digital transformation initiatives for Microsoft hardware supply chains including the Cloud and Devices business. This is achieved through close collaboration with the operations team and other dependent engineering teams across Microsoft.

We are looking for a Partner Group Engineering Manager to manage the India Cloud Supply Chain Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of managing larger team, provide engineering thought leadership to shape the engineering and product culture, and be responsible for delivering the program outcomes driven from India through great borderless collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers and product managers and coach them to deliver high-quality products and services aligning with Cloud and Devices roadmap.

  • Oversee the product strategy, system architecture, quality, deployment, and reliability of services or products that are driven by the India team, and ensure they incorporate user feedback, success metrics, and continuous improvement.

  • Be co-accountable with product management and design for delivering the vision, goals, and planning details for achieving the team’s mission.

  • Provide technical vision and direction, leverage technical aptitude and skills to ensure solutions provide the right level of cohesion across the ecosystem with agility and experimentation.

  • People Management: Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. Demonstrate pride in the growth of each member of the team and lead, empower, and grow a diverse and inclusive team of experienced managers and individual contributors in India region.

  • Be a role model for customer obsession, operational excellence, and demonstrate clarity through visual, written, and verbal communication within and outside the organization.

  • Collaborate with IDC leaders on the India level cross org initiatives, creating One Microsoft culture, and represent Cloud Supply Chain Engineering during the executive visits. Use the company wide and industry forums to attract talent to Microsoft and Cloud Supply Chain.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • o OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 14+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • o OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of people management experience.

  • Experience in Supply chain

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP stack
