BAE Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Technician to support the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) product line, in the Countermeasures & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions business area. As an industry leader in EO/IR and RF technologies, ISS is dedicated to advancing multi-platform detection, tracking and defeat of incoming threats to support aircraft, ground vehicle and maritime survivability.

We are looking for a software programming assistant to work with developers on tasks such as operating system upgrades, software vulnerability assessment, continuous integration, and script development.

  • Duties include supporting the software design, code and code modification on a Linux development project

  • Supporting the creation of RPM install packages

  • Building open source for current development environment

  • Supporting the creation of DevSecOps infrastructure

  • Support the patching of embedded systems

  • Participation in updating application code to work with latest open source

  • Supporting security approvals for new tools and maintenance

  • Supporting the development of Jira workflow supporting approval process

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Associates degree in computer science, related engineering or scientific discipline

  • Software coding experience utilizing modern programming languages (e.g. C , Python, or other scripting languages)

  • Experience using Linux

  • Familiarity with source code control

  • Expected to earn Security Plus certification

  • Must be eligible to obtain a US Government Secret level clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Familiarity with Object Oriented design, development practices, and implementation

  • Familiarity using software development tools such as the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $57100 - $91400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
