Leidos Electrical or Computer Engineer – Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop Testing – Entry Level in Huntsville, Alabama

Description

The RF & Intelligence Solutions Department, a Leidos Dynetics team located in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to collaborate with a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

The RF & Intelligence Solutions Department is a team of engineers who specialize in testing foreign threat radar systems, RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators, and open-air radar development. The candidate selected for this position will support projects for the Defense Intelligence Community, Air Force, and large prime contractors.

Project assignments could be focused in one or multiple of the following areas:

  • Development and maintenance of MATLAB scripts to automate testing of simulated radar and missile models in both software-based and hardware-in-the-loop configurations in a variety of environments including Windows, Linux, and hard real-time operating systems.

  • Development of MATLAB and C++ custom graphical user-interface tools to support simulation control and real-time visualization of simulation results.

  • Development and upkeep of testing procedures and user documentation for customer and internal use.

  • Creation of deployable professional software deliveries with supporting documentation including version descriptions, test results, and robust installation tools.

  • Collaboration with external customers to elicit requirements and define project goals.

  • Collaboration with cross-department teams to develop, validate, deliver, and sustain emulated software-based and hardware-based foreign radar threat systems

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree from an ABET accredited school in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or anticipate graduating in one of these majors within the next 3 months) with 0-3 years of relevant experience.

  • 3.5 GPA or higher

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

  • Must have familiarity with MATLAB and a proficient background in coding

  • A background in C++ or object-oriented coding

  • Candidate must demonstrate relevant skills in one or more of the focus areas, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team.

  • Candidate should be able to apply academic background to the development, improvement, and maintenance of scripts, procedures, and user interfaces used to test Radar Foreign Threat Models.

  • Candidate should be able to apply engineering concepts to the development, debugging, or utilization of C++ coded software models.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence), Git, Bash or PowerShell Scripting, Microsoft Office, or Jenkins.

  • Familiarity with SCRUM, RF, radar, drafting test procedures and documentation.

  • Familiarity using testing equipment such as an Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, and Power Meter.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
