DT Professional Services Asset Management Specialist in Huntsville, Alabama

Job Summary:

DT Professional Services is seeking a motivated self-starter who wants to join a team dedicated to excellence and continuous progress. The ideal candidate will bring a background in asset management (both IT software AND hardware) and its associated workflows. Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in cybersecurity and the impacts to hardware and software in a DoD environment is required.

The successful candidate will support our customer’s information technology asset management (ITAM) for Integrated Base Defense (IBD) Kitting, Entry Control Point (ECP), Non-Intrusive Inspection System (NIIS), Base Expeditionary Targeting Surveillance System – Combined (BETSS-C), Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance System (RDISS), and other systems as requested. 

The Asset Management Specialist Level 1 will work with the IT Asset Manager and the IBD-SS systems engineering team to ensure the base defense information system assets are accounted for, deployed, maintained, upgraded, and disposed of, to include network and cybersecurity management.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems to ensure compliance with stated configurations and approved cybersecurity requirements under the direction of the IT Asset Manager

  • Inventory, track, and report on the existing IT assets for the program

  • Collect, review, and analyze data to determine the performance and health of the systems

  • Review and recommend updates to software specifications as required

  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support to users under the direction of the IT Asset Manager

  • Review or update documentation for systems as needed

  • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e., IT hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e., plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity

  • Other duties as assigned by Systems Engineering Management

    Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS and 4-5 years relevant asset management experience- including IT software and IT hardware (6 experience in lieu of a degree)

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in cybersecurity and the impacts to hardware and software in a DoD environment

    Preferred Skills:

  • DoD IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent highly desired

  • Superior comprehension of asset management and associated workflows

  • Ability to document systems and communicate discrepancies or any required changes using the Microsoft Office suite and other software tools as required

  • Ability to work well with others and communicate with supervisors

  • An understanding of network engineering, configurations, and administration

    The compensation range for this position: $85k - $100k annually.
