NRG Energy, Inc. Sr. Graphic Designer - Hybrid in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to both established NRG brand guidelines and also evolving guidelines with the involvement of the Creative Manager to generate digital & print collateral that reinforces the NRG voice through visual touchpoints.

  • Leverage and build upon pre-established concepts, or create entirely new layouts - applying photography, and provided copy - while ensuring continuity of typography and design arrangements, and any related aesthetic concepts.

  • Produce assets for review by internal clients/stakeholders, and make revisions based on the feedback received, via established process review cycles.

  • Collaborate with in-house creative team to achieve department goals.

  • Work closely with Project Manager, Copywriter, Digital/UX and Creative Manager to obtain all relevant information, technical requirements and timelines for successful project completions.

  • Review final layouts for potential errors, and ensure that final digital or print-ready files reflect required specifications.

  • Opportunity to influence and cross-train as new team processes are being developed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma and 6+ years of experience designing for digital media and print OR Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience designing for digital media and print

  • Proven experience creating digital marketing collateral and video material in a corporate environment.

  • Proficient with Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro, as well as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

  • Established portfolio available for digital review online.

  • Must possess strong concepting and design skills, with ability to present those ideas.

  • Must have a solid foundation in typography, layout, and design.

  • Full-time position, 40 hrs/week – remote/hybrid with occasional need to work in Houston Downtown office.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in graphic design, advertising, marketing or related field.

  • Any familiarity with project management & collaborating software like Wrike, Slack and Microsoft Teams considered a bonus.

  • Time management skills – the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress.

  • Ability to meet all deadlines under pressure and react to unexpected schedule changes and fluctuations in workload.

  • Teamwork skills – work both collaboratively and autonomously as necessary.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, layout skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of production (print, web, and social).
