MD Anderson Cancer Center Program Coordinator | Language Assistance Department in Houston, Texas

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. It was named the nation's No. 1 hospital for cancer care in U.S. News & World Report's 2022-2023 rankings. It is one of the nation's original three comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with three years of project/program coordination experience and excellent MS Excel skills to include Power BI.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates all activities related to the Bilingual Qualification Program including application review, facilitate testing, proctoring exams as needed, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Develops and prepares data collection from multiple sources including internal data and vendor data for monthly reports, annual reports, staff productivity, and other documentation required for the department.

  • Develops and maintains department Visual Management Boards and Dashboards utilizing Microsoft Power BI.

  • Record, reconcile and report variances for monthly financials for the department, including Monthly Financial Review, Expense Review & Confirmation Process (STAT), and Personnel Expense Review

  • Assists department leaders with process improvement initiatives including the development of educational materials, tools, and resources as needed.

  • Coordinate activities and projects related to Language Assistance.

  • Assist with policy and procedure creation and annual review.

  • Coordinate maintenance of Language Assistance Storefront as needed.

  • Serve as support and coverage to other administrative/secretarial staff.

  • Performs complex administrative duties.

  • Creates and formats presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes.

  • Coordinates human resources activities for the department including maintaining department employee files.

  • Responsible for departmental purchasing.

  • Performs delegated timekeeping functions.

  • Coordinates functions including maintenance of physical plant, physical inventory, and space planning.

  • Acts as Property Officer for the department and performs annual Asset Inventory and maintain Asset management.

  • Liaison with language vendors to request contract interpreters, to report any issues, or to initiate resolution of vendor interpreter or translation complaints.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.

Preferred: Master's Degree.

Experience

Required: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
