Paramount Post Production Supervisor - Rotating Shift (Freelance) in Hollywood, California

Work hours: Rotating shift weekly 10am to 7pm PT, 12 pm to 9 pm PT, 2pm to 11 pm PT (Training will likely occur 10 am to 7 pm)

Role and Responsibilities:

Typical day-to-day functions for this role include-

  • Supervise the online editing and audio sweetening of promos produced by the writer/producers and assigned by the Director of Production. This includes directing the activity of online editors/colorists, audio mixers, and voice-over talent.

  • Lead and QC (quality control) the production of promo media files for final air ensuring they adhere to marketing/branding requirements and specs.

  • Properly transcode promo files to requested specs and codecs, primarily using Adobe Media Encoder.

  • Trafficking and archiving promos in a DAM / MAM environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Television or Film production (from a four-year college or university or two to five years of related experience (e.g., SVOD, a television network, network affiliate, major film studio, production company or advertising agency) and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have a creative marketing background with extensive experience in short-form production. Experience in broadcast, cable, and/or streaming preferred.

  • Supervising and scheduling production personnel is critical. A proven technical background in post-production is key!

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of editing, audio mixing, media file formats, animated graphics, and miscellaneous equipment used in typical day-to-day post-production. Understanding of file-based post-production workflows is required.

  • Mac and Windows operating systems, spreadsheets, database systems, and general word processing. Adobe Media Encoder experience preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Additional requisite skills include being a well-organized and detailed person with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be even-keeled, working in a space of tight deadlines and simultaneously managing post-production scheduling.

  • Flexible with work hours as needed is key!

Hiring Salary Range: $50.00 - 56.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
