In the Enterprise & Security group, we are responsible for securing our users’ identity and data from ever increasing threats. We build operating system technologies that protect our users and secure our users’ data.

The Enterprise & Security group that handles this critical domain in ILDC is expanding, you have an opportunity to join us and be a part of the founding team members.

Responsibilities

If you are passionate about developing new functionality to keep us one step ahead of hackers, we have a job for you. Do you want to work on virtualization-based security technologies? Do you want to protect users even when OS kernel is an enemy? What about securing financial transactions? How about securing the OS boot from the early stages? Can you rise to the challenge of implementing the latest key isolation solutions? We’ve got that and more. And as a senior engineer, you will help define and influence OS security across the world.

The Enterprise & Security group in ILDC focused on crypto algorithms, certificate trust, application isolation, secure boot technologies across Windows and Linux. We supply the most fundamental building blocks across products lines at Microsoft. Our work is exciting and impactful. Your code will run on billions of devices such as PCs, tablets, phones, thermostats, as well as in Windows and Linux servers in the cloud. Our crypto and TLS module power the Azure Cloud, our device management solution manages millions of devices across the planet, and our virtualization-based security technologies are preventing malware attacks every day. The utmost reliability, efficiency and security of code is a mandate in this team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience developing code in C/C++ Windows internals, components such as kernel, file systems, networking, memory management, scheduling, etc.

  • Outstanding team player with strong communication skills

  • Ability to drive challenging technical projects start to finish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows permission model / access controls / least privilege principles in general.

  • Experience with secure boot technologies.

  • Experience with data protection and cryptography.
