Senior Container Data & Contract Management Specialist

This candidate will be part of the data and contract management team responsible for Carrier Support Services and Spot Quotes for Sales for multiple Businesses. The main responsibilities include providing leadership in maintaining standards and processes, working with CTL Sourcing team and/or business groups to resolve data or process issues, loading and/or auditing rates and terms in our contract management system (GT Nexus), carrier enablement, generating transaction and management reports, and resolving CTL Sourcing queries regarding rate requests and contract amendments. This role requires considerable knowledge of containerized ocean freight sourcing and operations (freight forwarding) and strong geographic knowledge. This role works closely with the Container Mode Team, Business Groups, and Carriers in spoken and written English. He /She will troubleshoot issues by contacting carriers, other CTL global functional teams, or business groups.
30% Monitor transactions and procedures to ensure data and process standards are maintained and resolve issues through root cause analysis, training, and other methods. Develop tools and/or processes to improve the quality and efficiency of the team’s work. (Service Catalog 4.3.3.05 Review and Audit Data Governance)
20% Create/Add/Delete/Maintain transportation data (carrier rates, lanes, surcharges, routes, etc.) in GT Nexus, or audit what carrier has loaded into GT Nexus against carrier’s version of the contract. (Service Catalog 4.6.4.03 Load Carrier Information and Rates, 4.6.4.04 Maintain Data Required for TMS, and 4.6.4.05 Resolve Load Rating Issues)
20% Maintain sourcing support data, such as rate benchmarking, shipment data cleansing, EDI data quality and carrier performance reports. (Service Catalog 4.5.2.07, 4.5.3.05, 4.5.5.03, 4.6.4.06 Report related metrics, and 4.2.1.02 Extract Data/Reports for Analysis)
10% Act as first escalation point for issue resolution. Collaborate with CTL Sourcing team on data or process improvements. (Service Catalog not applicable)
10% Set up new Business Groups and/or Carrier for container freight sourcing and operations within the GT Nexus platform, including maintaining BG information, setting up the BG in GT Nexus, working with carriers to identify existing or set up new Carrier Unique Customer Codes (CUCCs), ensure the CUCC’s are linked to Cargill’s parent code and mapped properly for EDI in GT Nexus, and providing data to the sourcing team and carriers to set up and maintain credit and contract access for the BG. 10% Other activities as required, including covering for absences
Undergraduate (4 years) degree or equivalent in business or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of operations experience in containerized ocean freight, such as freight forwarding, customs brokerage, rate sourcing, rate/tariff/contract administration, or freight payables, including at least 1 year of container freight rate administration and/or freight sourcing.
Excellent verbal and written English.
Solid understanding of sourcing and contract processes as well as risks and internal controls in container freight.
Ability to learn and retain global geographic information.
Ability to read and interpret rate notes and determine if discrepancies are acceptable.
Strong communication and team work.
Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions in the business.
Effective decision making and problem solving.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel pivot tables, lookups, graphics, and other advanced features.

Undergraduate (4 years) degree or equivalent in logistics, transportation or supply chain management.
Knowledge of other transportation modes
6 sigma or equivalent certification
Experience in Export/Import requirements and documentation, accounts payable, tender management etc.
Experience in maintaining service provider contracts and negotiation skills.
Experience with GT Nexus, Inttra & tracking tools (FleetMon, Azure) and other integrated system.
Written and verbal fluency in other languages, especially Portuguese.
