WSP USA Underwater Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Greenville, South Carolina

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Underwater Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Mooresville, NC office. Be involved in projects with our Southeast Bridge Inspection Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges!

Your Impact

  • Use relevant work experience to perform and complete underwater evaluation of the condition, function and load carrying capacity of bridges and their individual components.

  • These evaluations may form the basis of recommendations to bridge owners for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.

  • Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector.

  • Tasks may include assistance with the design, repair and construction of bridges, roads, tunnels, and dams.

  • Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project.

  • Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

  • Plan, schedule, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with the requirements of specific bridge owners, but in all cases, in compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE).

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • 10+ years of bridge inspection experience.

  • ADCI commercial diver certification.

  • Ability to pass a USDOT physical and ADCI diver's physical.

  • Meets NBIS Team Leader requirements.

  • Valid state driver’s license.

  • Physically capable of performing field work including climbing slopes and ladders, carrying gear (up to 75 lbs), operating small boats, and using hand and power tools, etc.

  • Ability to read plans and specifications to provide technical assistance on bridge inspections.

  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.

  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

  • Frequent travel/overnight travel will be required depending on project-specific requirements and project location.

  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree.

  • Successful completion of NHI course Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.

  • Successful completion of NHI course Underwater Bridge Inspection.

  • Prior leadership experience.

  • ADCI Air-diving Certification.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. #LI-JA1
