Laborer

Amerine Utilities Construction, Inc. (AUC) started in October 1977. AUC provides the underground construction of communication cable, and also is specialized in horizontal directional drilling.

Perform tasks involving physical labor at job sites. They carry out many different tasks. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up rubble and debris. They may load and unload construction materials and tools and move materials and tools about in work areas, assist in drilling, level earth using rakes and shovels, clean up spills, direct traffic at or near construction sites, and perform other activities as directed.

Laborers must be physically fit, hardworking, and able to follow instructions quickly and efficiently. They quickly learn to pay attention to what they are doing, follow safety precautions, and become handy with many kinds of tools. They may work on different crews doing various jobs, so having skills in a number of areas, as well as being able to get along with people, is important.

Competitive Wages (Starting estimated annual pay \$35-42K, paid hourly). Benefits Package includes 401(k) (AUC currently matches 1.5%) and options for health (AUC pays 100% of the employees premium), dental, vision, cancer, short term disability, accident, and lifeinsurance (AUC pays a \$10,000 Life & AD&D policy premium for the employee). Also includes Holiday & Vacation pay.
