Google Hardware Lab Generalist, Fabrication Equipment, Quantum AI in Goleta, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.

  • Experience with diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions using schematics, technical manuals, and problem-solving approaches.

  • Experience with one or more types of semiconductor fabrication equipment (deposition, etch, photolithography, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with equipment data analysis and tools like Google Sheets or similar.

  • Experience with research solutions, referencing technical manuals, and utilizing online resources for troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

  • Experience working with silicon wafers or similar substrates.

The Quantum Equipment Engineering team ensures the smooth landing, operation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality quantum devices reliably and efficiently.

As the Hardware Lab Generalist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the high-tech tools within our semiconductor fabrication facility. You will coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $81,000-$119,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fabrication equipment to maximize uptime and ensure operational efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.

  • Install, repair, and upgrade fabrication equipment adhering to established procedures and best practices.

  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and complete detailed work documentation to ensure traceability and knowledge transfer.

  • Follow all cleanroom protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and contamination-free work environment.
