TDA Research Summer Pre-STEM Internship in Golden, Colorado

TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden. We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. TDA is looking for Summer Pre-STEM Interns that are current sophomores in high school (10th graders) through current seniors in high school (12th graders), including those who will begin their full-time college undergraduate studies in fall 2024.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Different focus areas are available based on applicant’s abilities. Duties could include following list.

  • Assist in 3D printing experiments including model creation, paste preparation and printing

  • Assist in visual design work

  • Coat and test sample coupons (labeling, cleaning, surface preparation, coating, etc.)

  • Clean, calibrate and maintain equipment

  • Design and build simple website

  • Document and perform various experiments

  • Calibrate balances (under supervision)

  • Assist in the crating and storing of laboratory equipment

  • Clean indoor and outdoor storage areas

  • Organize parts inventory and labeling

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with CAD software

  • Experience with modeling tools (e.g. SysML, MATLAB)

  • Experience with 3D printing

  • Familiarity with MS Office

  • Knowledge of website production and maintenance

  • Familiarity with laboratory scale operation

  • Experience with tools (auto maintenance, woodworking, etc.)

  • Experience with arts and crafts (pottery, weaving, etc.)

    Education Requirement:

  • Current sophomores in high school (10th graders) through current seniors in high school (12th graders), including those who will begin their full-time college undergraduate studies in fall 2024.

    Required Qualification:

  • Ability to work in-person every day during the summer at TDA’s facilities in Golden, Colorado. Students must be prepared to commute every day from their summer place of residence to TDA’s Golden site for in-person work. No remote or hybrid option available.

    No sponsorship, relocation, or housing stipend available for this internship.

Pay rate is $16.50 per hour, without benefits as this is a Summer Internship and temporary.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors as education, experience, skill-set, and/or location.

All Colorado part-time employees are entitled to Paid Sick Leave under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Ace (HFWA). Full details are available on the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment website.
