NY1498549 Family Specialist needed with Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth in Gloversville, NY

The Family Specialist is responsible for coordinating therapeutic activities for youth and families so youth can live safely, productively, and independently within their home community.

Job Responsibilities: - Maintains positive partnership with referring agency including coordinating required services for youth and families, maintaining timely and effective communication regarding case activities. - Assists with providing crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns. - Provides supportive case work counseling to youth and families including all assessments, treatment and discharged plans.
- Coordinates psycho-educational groups as needed.
- Schedules and ensures youths home visits are goal oriented and work toward building trust, communication and healthy relationships. - Facilitate comprehensive treatment reviews according to agency and state regulations. - Completes all state mandated and agency documentation according to policy and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements: - Minimum of Bachelors degree in social work or related field required. MSW preferred. - Minimum of 1-3 yrs. of experience working with diverse youth and families. - Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary. - Must have a valid drivers license. Travel required. - Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.

Skills: Ability to handle crisis intervention in solution focused manner as well as communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
