Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated career and customer-oriented Systems Engineering Lead IV in Glen Burnie, MD. Please note that while this position is in Glen Burnie, the ideal candidate can sit in any ManTech approved facility within the Washington DMV area.

The Systems Engineering Lead’s primary function is to be a leader in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will manage a team of Systems Engineers while playing a crucial role in developing and integrating Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compliant models and producing DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) artifacts for DoD’s Military Services and Agencies’ IT and C6ISR systems. The Systems Engineering Lead IV supervises and mentors subordinate project and team ManTech staff.

Performance shall include:

  • Direct other MBSE Systems Engineers on the process to review and abstract data from DoD technical documentation to implement within the system models using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler within a Digital Engineering Environment (DEE).

  • Work with a distributed team that builds representative models of DoD platforms, systems, and processes.

  • Use methods and techniques to conduct an analysis of alternatives and apply protocols to appropriate technology capabilities, risks, and alternatives to implement the most cost- and performance-effective solutions.

  • Design SE processes and procedures and modify Systems Engineering Plans or Systems Engineering Management Plans to ensure proper integration with mission partners’ systems and engineering processes.

  • Direct other MBSE to use model-based Multidisciplinary Optimization and Analysis (MDAO) capability to accomplish an AoA within a DEE.

  • Convene Systems Engineers to recommend change requests and assess their impacts to ensure the success of emerging technologies recommended within Innovation Recommendation Reports (IRR) to increase interoperability and sustainment.

  • Provide inputs and assessments of AoA results to ensure data-driven, evidenced-based recommendations to report and present in IRRs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program and 12 or more years of experience.

  • 7 years of position-specific relevant experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of information technology, network infrastructure, or C6ISR systems.

  • Strong written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills are essential.

  • The ability to follow directions is a must.

  • Experience with MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, CATIA, or other SysML/modeling tools.

  • A High School Diploma and 16 years of experience or an Associates and 14 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Degree.

  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • OCSMP SysML Certifications.

  • INCOSE Certifications.

  • A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM).

  • Ability to work in a distributed team environment.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility

  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
