Exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will manage quality in HCO projects providing functional support to deliver products and services right first time, meeting delivery commitments and within budget. You will also support the strategic goal of the systematic reduction in the cost of poor quality The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation of the Quality improvement strategy in HCO projects resulting in an improved customer experience and the reduction in the cost of poor quality. Promotion of quality across HCO through implementation of standard processes including NC management, RCCA facilitation and expert support to all functions. This will include coaching and influencing Value Stream team members in how to engage proactively with core Quality Improvement fundamental tools and techniques.

What Needs To Be Done?
Assume responsibility for all aspects of quality management throughout the value stream from quote to cash collection
Facilitate and lead root cause investigation and management of non-conformances. Focus on proactive risk reduction and mitigation to ensure delivery of improved customer satisfaction
Perform audits and process reviews, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to improve overall process control and effectiveness. Take lead role in Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) workshops and ensure closure of corrective actions
Development and maintenance of inspection & test records (ITP). Preparation & maintenance of Contract Quality Plans to meet contract requirements
Review & approve relevant supplier documentation such as weld procedures, NDE procedures, Hydrotest procedures and material certification etc in accordance with code & client requirements.
Liaise with clients & witnessing authorities to meet contract requirements. Support inspection/process review activities at Sub-Contractors Works
Use Howden Business Improvement tools (HBE) approach to promote Built in Quality concepts into Standard work. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Commercial and Procurement teams to drive improved manufacturing and supply chain performance and early defect detection
Work closely with Supplier Quality team in the development and improvement of HCO supply chain performance. Adopt partnership approach with key suppliers. Identify and support approval of new suppliers
Plan, manage and drive improvements in the management and control product/process and contract specific documentation
Support the business in the management of the health, safety and environmental management systems to maintain certification in accordance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Detailed understanding of an ISO9001 quality management system
Certified Internal Auditor qualifications. Audit and reporting of business processes and management systems
Experience of product inspections to designated standards
Positive demonstration of the deployment of Continuous improvement tools and techniques
Self-starter - This role is the custodian for Quality within the Value Stream and must be seen to act in this way
Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours
Manufacturing or Project Engineering background
Certified Lead auditor qualifications Management of an ISO 9001 quality management system
Detailed understanding of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems
Application of one or more ERP systems to a good working level
Lean or Six Sigma training/qualification Commercial acumen
