Position Description

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Certified Leads and Certified Strength & Conditioning Coaches to support the U.S. Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) initiative. We have exciting opportunities for candidates with varying experience and expertise to impact soldier readiness and operational effectiveness significantly. Incumbents are encouraged to apply!

You will work with a group of professionals, H2F Human Performance Teams (HPT), including physical therapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers on embedded teams within the brigades. You will be instrumental in empowering soldiers to take charge of their health, fitness, and well-being, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness and readiness of the total Army. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for those passionate about significantly impacting overall soldier health.

Lead Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach:

  • As the Lead SCC, you will be pivotal in designing, coordinating, and managing strength and conditioning programs aligned with H2F System guidelines. Your expertise will foster effective communication channels within BDE and battalion (B.N.) leadership, implement tailored physical performance optimization programs, and mentor fellow coaches. If you possess exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a master's degree relevant to SCC work experience and certification from NSCA or CSCCA, we encourage you to apply.

Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach:

  • As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC), you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing strength and conditioning programs that enhance soldier physical performance and reduce the risk of injuries. Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to empower soldiers to take charge of their health, fitness, and well-being. We invite you to apply if you have a bachelor's degree, relevant SCC work experience, and certification from NSCA or CSCCA.

Qualifications

To be successful in both roles, you will have:

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Lead Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - Requires a master’s degree in a related field and relevant SCC work experience.

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - Requires a bachelor’s degree and relevant SCC work experience.

  • Ability to pass a NACI (Tier 1) to access U.S. Government facilities and systems.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five (5) years based on the position being considered for. Internship or graduate work experience can count towards the experience requirement for up to one year.

  • Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC).

  • Current BLS or CPR certification with AED, certified by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

  • Capability to handle loads up to forty-five (45) pounds and to meet the physical demands of outdoor training in various environments.

  • Ability to travel 10% as needed to support geographically dispersed units.

Additional Considerations:

  • Potential waivers for the three (3) years of experience requirement for SCC interns or Graduate assistants working with professional/semi-professional, ROTC, collegiate, or equivalent sports teams for a minimum of three (3) months. All education/certification requirements must be met.

  • Potential waivers for honorably discharged military members and spouses. All education/certification requirements must be met.
